Judges - 2023 National Legal Skills Competitions
Register NowSeeking Sydney-based legal practitioners, alumni and experienced competitors.
Competition Dates: 28 July - 1 August
Location: University of Technology Sydney, Broadway
The Australian Law Students' Association is seeking practitioners, alumni, and experienced competitors to judge our 2023 rounds of the ALSA National Competitions, taking place in Sydney.
The following competitions are seeking judges:
- Championships Moot
- International Humanitarian Law Moot
- Negotiation Competition
- Client Interview Competition
- Witness Examination Competition
- Paper Presentation Competition
Competitions will be running from Friday 28th July to Tuesday 1st August. As a judge you can elect certain days and time periods according to your availability. Judges are not required to be available for the entire period.

Bailiffs - 2023 National Legal Skills Competitions
Register NowSeeking Sydney-based law students at ANY degree stage - no experience necessary.
Competition Dates: 28 July - 1 August
Location: University of Technology Sydney, Broadway
The Australian Law Students Association is seeking Sydney-based law students at ANY STAGE of their degree to fill numerous Bailiff positions at the 2023 ALSA National Conference.
Bailiffs play a critical role by providing administrative support to ensure the rounds of the 2023 ALSA National Competitions run smoothly. You will be responsible for escorting judges, actors and competitors to their rooms, timekeeping, and managing scoresheets.
No professional or competitions experience is needed for this role - ALSA will provide all necessary training materials and guidance. This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about legal skills competitions, as you'll get to witness first-hand as the top competitors in Australia (and internationally) compete for the national championship.
Likewise, if this is your first time getting involved with ALSA, this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and get to know more about what we do.

Actors - 2023 National Legal Skills Competitions
Register nowSeeking Sydney-based student volunteers - no experience necessary.
Competition Dates: 28 July - 1 August
Location: University of Technology Sydney, Broadway
The Australian Law Students' Association is seeking Actors to perform the roles of Clients, Plaintiffs and Defendants at the 2023 ALSA Conference, taking place in Sydney.
Making sure our National Competitions run smoothly requires a huge cast of volunteers! That's where you come in. We are looking for volunteer actors, to act as clients with legal problems and witnesses in courtroom trials.
No professional or competitions experience is necessary for this role - ALSA will provide Actors will all relevant training materials and guidance. However, any familiarity with legal skills competitions or acting experience of any kind will be advantageous.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about legal skills competitions, as you'll get to observe first-hand as the top competitors in Australia (and internationally) compete for the national championship.
